"You have been told, what is good, and what the Lord requires of you: Only to do right and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God." —Micah 6:8

Social Justice Ministry

St. Mary Student Parish Social Justice Ministry supports the parish in our Christian obligation to have social justice become an integral part of our faith.

"Campus ministry is called to be a consistent and vigorous advocate for justice, peace, and the reverence of all life. All the baptized should understand that 'action on behalf of justice is a significant criterion of the Church's fidelity to its missions. It is not optional, nor is it the work of only a few in the Church. It is something to which all Christians are called according to their vocation, talents, and situations in life.'"

- Empowered by the Spirit: Campus Ministry Faces the Future, USCCB, November 15, 1985.

Social Justice Ministry prepares community members to become servant leaders, formed in faith, to be intellectually zealous, committed to service and advocacy, and reflective of God's will in their lives and the world. Therefore, the essential components of our ministry include:
Prayer, Education, Action, and Reflection (PEAR).
